A Wedding Portrait - Alison & Stuart

Alison and Stuart’s custom wedding portrait was a pleasure to create. Their favourite photo, showing them walking hand in hand under an umbrella, captured a beautiful and timeless moment from their special day. Recreating this memory as an A3 pencil drawing allowed me to highlight the connection they share, bringing their favourite wedding image to life in a truly unique way

Artistic Process

This personalised portrait featured a full-body composition, offering the chance to focus on intricate details while maintaining the flow of the original photograph. We opted for a blurred, high-contrast background to keep the couple as the focal point, drawing attention to their connection. Special care was taken to capture the interplay of light and texture, ensuring the piece had both delicacy and impact.

Favourite Details

One of the standout aspects of this bespoke artwork was recreating the lace on Alison’s wedding dress. The translucent quality of the lace added an ethereal touch that brought elegance and dimension to the piece. Additionally, the couple’s shared umbrella provided a lovely focal point, adding charm to the overall scene.
